Question Bank

Guide to creating question banks, adding questions, checking completeness, and keeping questions consistent.

exam question bank questions

A question bank (“Bank Soal”) is a collection of questions prepared for use in a specific exam schedule.

Question Bank

Create a question bank based on the subject, owner, and needs of the exam.

  • Give the question bank a clear name, for example PAS Matematika Kelas 10.
  • Select the appropriate subject.
  • Assign a teacher or owner to the question bank if needed.
  • Make sure the question bank is active before linking it to an exam schedule.

Adding Questions

Questions are added from the question bank’s detail page.

  • Enter each question with clean, consistent formatting.
  • Complete the answer options for objective questions.
  • Mark the answer key according to the question type.
  • Set weights or scoring options where available.
  • Review media, tables, and formulas before the package is used.

Question Types

The available question types include:

  • Multiple choice.
  • Complex multiple choice.
  • Matching.
  • Short answer.
  • Essay.

Choose question types that fit the purpose of the assessment. Objective questions are suited to automatic grading, while essays require manual grading or follow-up by the teacher.

Package Validation

Before a question bank is used in an exam schedule, check the following:

  • Every question has question text.
  • Objective questions have answer options.
  • Answer keys have been set.
  • The number of questions matches the exam plan.
  • The question order is correct if the exam does not shuffle questions.
  • The package does not contain unintended duplicate questions.

Consistency After Use

An active question bank that has already been used should not be changed casually.

Changes to a question bank that is already in use can affect exam consistency, participant results, and reports. If a major revision is needed, create a new question bank so the exam history remains clear.

Good Practices

  • Keep separate question banks for each exam event.
  • Do not reuse a single question bank across events with different contexts.
  • Use question bank names that teachers and administrators can easily search for.
  • Archive old question banks that are no longer in use.
